Summer Reading Programs for Kids

Borders/Waldenbooks: Double-Dog Dare You Prorgram! Read 10 books, get one free! You can print out a form at: http://media.bordersstores.com/pdf/summerreading.pdf

Barnes and Noble: Passport to Summer Reading! Read 8 books, choose a free book from a list. You can download a passport at: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/

Phoenix Public Library: Extra! Extra! Read Your Way to the Ballpark! Children, birth to age 18, can earn prizes by reading 50 pages or listening to a book being read for 20 minutes. Readers who finish the program win a children's book for their home library and also earn a bonus prize - a ticket to a Diamondbacks' game. Booklogs will be available June 1 at any Phoenix Public Library, or online at phoenixpubliclibrary.org/kids

Scholastic: Read for the World Record! Launching on April 30th, the Scholastic Summer Challenge is a global summer reading program with a robust online community for kids, plus expert advice, engaging activities on Facebook and summer book lists for parents, and resources for librarians and educators – and it’s all FREE.
