YW/YM FUNDRAISER

Our YW/YM camp is right around the corner on March 12th and we are working on getting our girls to get their auction items ready. Bro. Edwards had a great idea to reach out to the ward to see what they would be interested in bidding on. Here are a few things we had last year (that I can remember) and also a few that Bro. Edwards said he would love to bid on. We want to do things the ward members would actually use and want.

Car wash & vacuum
House Cleaning (base boards, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing, etc.)
Help w Garage Cleanup/Organization
Movie Night/Babysitting (movie ticket & free babysitting)
Babysitting in general
Bedtime Stories
Game Night
Outdoor Fun (chalk, bubbles, jump rope)
Sports Lessons
Scrapbook basket
Cooking basket
Yard Work
Dog Walking
Gardening

Please email Kristine Wright @ kmariewright@yahoo.com with things you would be interested in. It does not have to be something on the list. It can be something you've in the past years or something you would like to have.

I do taxes!

I have a home-based tax preparation and accounting business. I worked a few years for a regional accounting firm in Orem, UT doing individual tax returns and have been doing taxes and accounting work from home for the last three years.

My basic return fee starts at $70 and my 1040 with Schedule A (itemized deductions) fee starts at $120—Arizona returns included!

If you are interested in having your taxes prepared for you, please contact me and I can give you an exact quote on what your return would cost.

Please feel free to share my information with your friends and neighbors who may be looking for a tax preparer. I am always happy to gain more clients!

Thanks,

Aftin Aaron

WEEKLY READING

Week of February 14- February 20

Gospel Doctrine: Lesson 7: “[He] Took Our Infirmities, and Bare Our Sicknesses” Mark 1-2; 4:35-41; 5; Luke 7:11-17
  • A miracle is an extraordinary event caused by divine or spiritual power (Bible Dictionary, “Miracles,” 732–33). Why did Jesus perform miracles during his mortal ministry? (See Matthew 9:27–30; Mark 1:27; 2:10–11; 5:19 for some answers to this question.)
  • Why do you think faith must precede miracles? Why don’t miracles alone provide a firm foundation for faith?
  • Why are the miracles that Jesus performed during his mortal life important to you? Why is it important to know that he continues to perform miracles today? What are some examples of modern miracles?

Suggestion for Family Discussion:
Invite family members to tell of miracles that have occurred in their lives or the lives of people they know.

WANT A SPROUTS STORE IN SHOPS AT NORTERRA? Write an email! Here's how!!!...

I sent an email to the Sprouts Farmer's Market pleading with them to build a Sprouts in the Norterra area. There is an empty building for lease near Walmart that would be big enough and many other areas up here where they can put in a store.

I think it would do REALLY well here. I am asking anyone who is interested to send in an email as well. And pass this along to your neighbors!! You can send an email to: susancameron@sprouts.com She is the customer relations person in AZ and will pass it along to their Real Estate Dpt. The more people who email her the more likely we could get one here.
If you want more info on Sprouts, go to http://sprouts.com/home.php

Here is what I said in my email, and the response I got: (her response is first and then you can scroll down to see my original email.)

Good morning,

Thank you for your nice note! We are looking at several locations throughout California, Dallas & Austin Texas, Arizona and Colorado.

I will certainly pass this information on to our Real Estate Department - as this is valuable feedback!

Thank you so much for writing!

Have a great day,

Susan Cameron

My Sprouts : Glendale (57th Ave. & Bell )

Message:
I would LOVE to see a Sprouts closer to my home. I know of 500 people AT LEAST who would shop there if you built one. I live at the crossroads of Happy Valley Road and 19th Ave. in Phoenix Arizona, right near The Shops at Norterra. There are many of us here who drive all the way to 57th Ave. and Bell to shop for your amazing produce and prices. How about doing us a favor back and building a store closer to us? There is a building open for lease right on Happy Valley in the shopping center where are located such stores as Barnes & Noble, Staples, Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx, Old Navy, Pier One Imports, Walmart, and many other stores. Adding a Sprouts to this area would only enhance it and putting it in the building open for lease would cause people to FLOCK to your store. There is also much land available in this area for commercial development. I am PLEADING with you to build a store close to our area... I promise you won't be disappointed with the results. I can guarantee it!!! I would be there every day! :) Please, please, please!

Week of February 7- February 13

Gospel Doctrine: Lesson 6: “They Straightway Left Their Nets” Luke 4:14-32; 5; 6:12-16’ Matthew 10

  • Why was it important that Jesus call Apostles? (See Matthew 9:36–38; 16:19; Mark 3:14–15; John 20:19–21, 23; Ephesians 4:11–15.) Why is it important that the Lord has called Apostles today?
  • What do you learn about the powers and responsibilities of Apostles from Jesus’ counsel in Matthew 10? How have you seen latter-day Apostles fulfill these responsibilities?
  • How have you been blessed by following the counsel of an Apostle?

Suggestion for Family Discussion
Show the chart of General Authorities from the most recent conference issue of the Church magazine in your area. Help family members recognize and learn the names of the members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. A place to rent?

A good friend of mine is moving to the valley from Camp Verde. Her name is Tara Finch and she is amazing. She owns a rejunkstore website and can turn junk into treasures. Her website is www.junkrestore.com Check it out! She's AWESOME!! However, not alot of people are buying furniture these days and she needs to get a "real job." :)
Tara worked as a Pharmacy tech for a few years and is certified, but has been looking for anything that will pay rent.
Tara is a single mom with three awesome kiddos; Madalyn (13), Bennett (10), and Corinne (8).
I'm telling you all this in hopes that someone can help her in her search for a "real job" and a place to rent. She needs to stay in north Phoenix because the kids dad is in Cottonwood and he has weekends.
She is looking for a three bedroom, but will settle for a two bedroom if it fits into her price range, She needs to stay around $800.
Please let me know if you can help her out or know of someone who can.
You can email me at smileynancy@hotmail.
Thanks so much!
Tara would be so grateful! and me too :)
